Stanmore-headquartered. Serving sole traders, landlords, CIS subcontractors and limited-company directors across the whole United Kingdom. One accountant from your first call through to your filed return — no churn, no call centres, no surprise bills.
Our Story
Your Tax Help Accountants was founded out of a simple frustration. Talha Alvi had spent more than a decade in UK tax practice, and again and again saw the same pattern: clients paying for accountancy services they could not understand, receiving annual surprise bills that bore no resemblance to the original quote, talking to a different junior staff member every time they phoned in, and walking away from filing season no clearer on their own tax position than when they started. For an industry built on numbers, that level of opacity made no sense.
So in 2026 the practice was built differently from day one. One accountant per client, from quote through to filed return — the same person you speak to on day one is still the person filing your final SA100 or CIS300 a year later. Fixed monthly fees agreed before any work starts, with no surprise add-ons at year end. A secure online client portal so documents never travel by email. And a deliberate decision to operate UK-wide as an online-first practice so that a landlord in Aberdeen, a CIS subcontractor in Belfast or a limited-company director in Cardiff gets the same focused service as a client around the corner from our Stanmore office.
The practice now serves clients across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland — covering self-assessment for sole traders, CIS for the construction sector, landlord tax including Section 24 modelling and Making Tax Digital, limited-company accounts and corporation tax, plus VAT and payroll for owner-managed businesses. Every engagement starts the same way: a free fifteen-minute call, an honest assessment of whether we are the right fit, and a fixed quote within twenty-four hours if we are.
If you have ever ended a conversation with an accountant feeling more confused than when it started — or opened a year-end invoice that was nothing like the original quote — that is the experience we set out to remove.
Meet the Founder
Founder & Lead Accountant
Talha has more than a decade of UK tax practice behind him, working with sole traders, CIS subcontractors, buy-to-let landlords, limited-company directors and high earners across the country. He is an HMRC-registered agent authorised to file returns and correspond with HMRC on behalf of clients, and works directly with every client from the first scoping call through to the filed return.
The practice deliberately stays at a size where the founder remains the accountant on every file — meaning no escalating juniors, no call centres, and a single point of accountability when your tax position is being modelled, decisions are being explained, or HMRC needs to be dealt with.
Outside of practice work, Talha writes the firm's blog on practical UK tax questions affecting sole traders, landlords and the construction sector — covering everything from CIS refund mechanics to the impact of Making Tax Digital on landlord compliance.
How We Work
Every engagement is quoted up front as a fixed monthly fee that covers everything in scope. No surprise add-ons at year end, no hourly billing creep, no quote-vs-invoice gap. The price you agree on day one is the price you pay.
The accountant who scopes your case is the same accountant who files your return. No handing your file to juniors, no call centre routing, no different name on every email. Continuity is what makes the work actually good.
Your return is explained back to you before it is filed. Not "the SA105 box 26 figure" — the actual story of what your tax position is, what is driving it, and what you can do about it. The aim is to leave you genuinely informed, not impressed.
Documents move through a secure client portal, not over email. Meetings are by phone or video. The result is that a landlord in Aberdeen, a CIS subcontractor in Belfast or a freelancer in Bristol gets the same focused service as a client around the corner from our office.
Multilingual Tax Practice
UK tax does not stop being complex in a second language. For clients who would rather discuss their return in something other than English, the practice offers full first-language service in three additional languages — particularly useful for first-generation business owners in construction, hospitality, retail and property.
Why Clients Choose Us
Fifteen minutes on the phone is usually enough to know whether we are the right fit for your situation. If we are, you will have a fixed quote within twenty-four hours. If we are not, we will tell you that too — and where appropriate, point you to a better fit.
Or email info@yourtaxhelp.co.uk — we typically respond within two business hours.
